take 5 spa – body scrub recipe

I know school is back in session for most of us and I should be writing healthy lunch ideas, but I am not! If you are anything like me, you  spent the past 3 months entertaining, feeding, chauffeuring, and truly enjoying time with your kids which was great. But as I did so much with them and for them, I neglected myself a bit and it’s time for me – and YOU- to take 5 minutes for yourself with daily spa breaks.

My skin has definitely seen the worst of this neglect. I am dry, scaly, splotchie and just plain yuck! So if you too are in need of a re-charge, this pampering body scrub is easy and will make your skin look so much better in just minutes! and the ingredients are things you probably have at home right now which leaves you no excuse not to join me and Take 5!

Ingredients:

1/2 cup olive oil
1 cup turbinado or brown sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon lemon zest

Method:

combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well.

Usage Instructions:

in the shower, scoop up a small amount of scrub and rub into skin in a circular motion, paying extra attention to knees and elbows. rinse well and follow with your favorite lotion.
Common Sense Notes- avoid eyes and mucous membranes, use of oil will make your shower or bath slippery so be careful.

Jes - This looks like such a great way to take care of me, and it looks easy, which is right up my lazy alley!

Two quick questions: How long does this keep? And should I store it in the fridge, or will it be okay if kept in my shower?
