Valentine’s Day Smoothie

What better way to celebrate the big Valentine’s Day than with chocolate and strawberries? But  you don’t have to clog the arteries of your loved ones to say I love you. Here is a sweet treat that says I Love You with great taste and nutrition.

This smoothie is so thick and rich, you will totally forget there are any health benefits. It just so happens to be packed with vitamins C, E, A, B6, K and folate (strawberries) fibre, iron and magnesium (cocoa powder) and omega-3 fatty acids and lignans (flaxseed oil). and for another healthy V-day idea, check out my Valentines Day Granola.

Ingredients:  makes 2- 1 cup servings

2 tablespoons fair trade cocoa powder
1 cup vegan yogurt
1/2 cup vegan milk
1 tablespoon flaxseed oil
1 tablespoon agave * optional
1 1/2 cup strawberries, cleaned and hulled


combine first 5 ingredients in blender and mix until smooth. add strawberries and blend again, garnish and serve immediately.
